About Us
Excellent Kids Montessori is different to a typical long Childcare centre — there’s a difference in our passionate educational team that we are very proud of. When you step inside our environment you will be impressed by children working purposefully and happily with each other and with the educators. You will experience the calm and peaceful atmosphere and you will be enthused by a centre which is dedicatedly enthusiastic in teaching your children life skills by using everyday materials; including crockery, stainless steel, wood and on occasions, glass.
At Excellent Kids Montessori, we endeavor to create opportunities to ensure our children are confident and involved learners by upholding the vision of education and its philosophy as an “aid to life”. Our approach is designed to specifically help children to grow in their life skills during their most formative years— early childhood.
Our Physical Environment
It is the environment that is inspiring and inviting to the children. From the moment you step inside our center, you will notice it is calm, orderly and visually attractive. It is filled with materials and activities that are real life, purposeful and engaging. Activities are displayed on open shelving easily accessible to the children. Our activities are specifically chosen and match the developmental stages of the children in our classes. We are proud of our exceptional indoor and outdoor spaces which are well integrated and available for class activities at all times.
Our Social Environment
We offer multi-age groupings for our children, similar to those in a typical family This enables our children to develop a sense of caring, social cohesion and responsibility for each other and their environment. Our age groupings include the following:

Our Approach to Time
Our day is made up of large blocks of uninterrupted learning time both indoor and outdoor. This allows our children to follow their interests without being rushed and in so doing, lengthens their concentration span.
Each classroom from our infant communities to our cycle one classrooms establishes its own routine to best accommodate the needs of the children at both the individual and group levels. The routine aims to be highly flexible and evolves as the children progress with time and age. The routines are displayed for parents and visitors to view.
Our curriculum combines traditional Montessori Methodology, the Early Years Learning Framework, the Queensland Kindergarten Curriculum and the National Quality Framework.
Our Montessori philosophy is holistic. It invites the child to choose activities at his or her own pace. Our classrooms provide both active and quiet spaces for children to feel free to enjoy their learning experiences calmly and peacefully. The enormous range of equipment and materials allows each child to find activities to satisfy his or her own needs and interests.
Single tables are available, especially in the older work cycles, for such an environment allows the children to work and play uninterruptedly. A unique sense of order within all classrooms gives the children respect, structure, freedom and a sense of belonging.
The Montessori materials are specifically and scientifically designed to enhance the children’s discovery skills and concept development.
